Final Verdicts for the Marketing package

With the request for the back of the card to not be glossy, this surface should be easier to write on.

Taking out the design, I later concluded again to keep it simple and have the viewer eager to check out my website.

I was concerned about the DVD cover, but it was decided that the digital painting summed it up well.
Through out this process. I was looking up established illustator's business cards and found Mandy Sechrist design for Chris Sanders' card(Director of Lilo and Stitch and How To Train Your Dragon) More simple then mine but needless to say Chris Sanders' name carries more weight than mine at this time.

DVD Cover Rejects...maybe

My first run at the DVD cover. I later felt that the background of the cover wasn't flowing well with the foreground painting with the bloch of ink on the bottom right side of the front.

I Then played around with texture and the sketch lay.

In my final hope to make this work, I pulled back the opacity even more on the back ground with the texture and sketch together. A bit of me is still considering this composition.

Business Card Design/Note Taking Front.

Again, based off of my old business card I wanted to show what I could do right off the bat. These were posted as samples for the mean time:

Here I was very satisfied with my DVD cover art so I wanted to paste it again on this medium:

Compensating my urge for a mini artwork and a note taking space. I finally decide on a border design. Due to Printing and cutting issues I later added a border.

Businesscard Rejects Info Side

My first and Simple but seemly tacky use of font.

Based off of my old business card, it was later considered too active and not to the point:

This was my first consideration that I choose later because of my concern for the space on the left:

Here I wanted to feel in the empty spot:

My final consideration before I finally decided to keep it simple all over again.

Oh! Is that me delivering a curb job? Well that's after a day of customer service and loss prevention for you.

Old Treasures.

While Digging through my years of work in The Art Institute of Las Vegas, I came across some work I did during the July 4 2009 "Caption America: Rebirth" Comic event. I did sketches based off of Caption America and his universe. Most of these were sold out by around 5pm that day. What was left the comic owner is holding of for me at the mean time.

Hot Sauce Gang Picnic + While I was away Continues!

Today, while playing Fallout 3 for the forth straight day after break, I got a call from a cool cat name David about a painting session happening at Sunset park Today. First I was like "meh...," then he said there was food, then I was like YAY! Unfortunately I had a few errands to do. so I finally came and got set up for the last hour. Beside that here is another page from my sketchbook contest.
On this page I was at the bar called "On the Rocks" with a special guest that day named Joe Bergin the 3rd. At the same time the rest of of Drink and draw guys where talking about "Drag Me to Hell" and finally I found an empty camel cigarette pack with designs I ready digg'd.

P.S. Yep I have really been playing too much Fallout 3. I'm now talking like Three Dawg.

Fig The Game

Here was my first time since 2 quarts have I had the chance to work on some digital paintings. With an Imagine FX article I read on color theory and a lot of playing around with brushes in photoshop, while texturing models, I surprised myself on how much I've improved. Enjoy!

To You Frank

a late dedication to a great man.

While I was away part11

Having a nice buzz from a shot of jack and coke, I was open to requests on what to draw. Kacey Newberry had the idea of making a modern day Shiva. So I had him hold two colts, a detonator,a warhead, small television broadcasting news, and a gasoline tank.I continued exploring shapes and icons of traditional Japanese patterns. I am also pretty excited about showing some new work that I did finally exploring digital painting further. I cant wait.

While I was away part...oh who's counting.

During this sketch was my mythology class where we learned about the orgins of creatures like Santa Claus, including other spirits that took the place of Santa Clause in other cultures. And being that my teacher was adopted by natives, she introduced her cult classic Icon. Billy Jack!

While I was away part 9

Here was a time I had when the Drink and Draw crew had their unofficial second get together on Saturdays. At a comic shop none the less. I was filled with ideas and inspiration for illustrations that where usually declare unconventional or what some would consider flaws others would make into publishing.

While I was away part 8

Around this time I was very interested in desaturated colors and the retro vibe I got out of it. At the same time while sampling colors straight from aging art works I came across a book called "Masterpieces of Japanese Prints" and took note of some of the accessories and patterned fabrics that defined the contours of the human figures, then I made it my own. When I carefully laid out the figure to establish her teasing posture, I exercised my hand and eye coordination while wasting no time to fill in and around the figure with designs. Mostly Victorian based since that was the last intensive study I did while I was an apprentice of a Faux Finisher.

While I was away part 7

Sorry folks for the long awaited post, if it not one thing that holds me up during the weekend it another, but I'm back and ready to show you more. Here's my idea of a comic I had since I was in high school. What if Black Waters tapped into the insurance business...with guns blazing!

While I was away part 5 + Whats new!

Here I too a inspiration from "The Labyrinth" and did a mock Movie poster. To the bottom right corn was my second point to point robot anatomy. I liked it, so I gave it some white color pencil care. Also I have been considering on having a new name for my portfolio site. Here are some considerations.(I know I spelled armored/armoured wrong it was a morning class. :p)
